Lloyd Silver Saints
March 2010
There were 36 people enjoying the Lloyd Silver Saints luncheon Thursday, February 18th. And we all received a blessing by being there. The Sonshine Band dulcimer players entertained for us, and hey, they are getting quite good! We are so proud of each of them: Steve, George, Kaye, Pat, and Shirley. Thank you for playing for us. In addition to the dulcimer band, we had special guests: the Campers on Mission, and 4 missionaries with the “From Grace to Glory” Mission work in Kenya, Africa. The main speakers were Stanley and Caroline Maleck who are presently studying in the U.S. They showed slides of their life and work in Kenya, and just how much work there is needed there. Paulette Hatfield brought our Spiritual Enrichment today, and her subject was Love – as a Verb! Yes, it is February and everyone thinks of Valentine’s Day, but we should be demonstrating love all day, every day of the year. Take this message to heart (and yes, I intended the pun) and we will all live closer to God and follow His second great commandment – that we love one another as He has loved us. Good food and good fellowship topped off a blessed day. Join us whenever you can. All are welcome – not just the ones with silver on top!
Paulette brought an announcement of a Seniors Day at the State Capitol to be held March 10th. The bus will leave the church at 9am and return around 3 pm. If you can go, please let Paulette know in time for her to make reservations for the lunch which will be served.
Our next meeting will be March 18th. Hope to see you then.

Hostess Committee
March 2010
The Hostess Committee will have Easter Lilies available for purchase and placement in the Sanctuary over Easter time. If you wish to purchase a lily in honor or in memory of a loved one please complete the form provided in the Lobby and give it to me or Carolyn Cheshire, along with your payment for the cost of the plant. The cost of the plants this year will be $8.00 each. This is a beautiful way to remember and honor loved ones who have been a blessing to your life.
As we all know, Jackson and Cianna are planning to be married in June of this year. We will be hosting a wedding shower in the honor of the happy couple on March 27, 2010, in the Fellowship Hall. Please mark your calendar to hold this date open and we will be providing further details at a later date. Jackson has been a wonderful blessing to our church and we extend them our best wishes.
We wish to thank the campers for the wonderful work they did in our kitchen area and Fellowship Hall. We will miss them, but know their wonderful work and testimony is much needed at other locations. We wish them well and will continue to pray for their ministry.

We are entering our Spring quarter. Exciting studies traveling through the Book of Daniel to in depth study in Colossians and Ecclesiastes all focusing on Jesus Christ and what He can do through believers as well as what believers can do and face with Him as part of their lives. God's Word unlocks the mysteries and truths about living in a world that offers challenges at every turn. A relationship with Jesus Christ is the beginning to understanding and seeing these events for what they are but also how to "Face Your Giants" with Him by your side. Come and unpack what God's Word has to say with us and arm yourself to face life's challenges.
